Tak seperti Fabious (James Franco) yang gagah berani, Thadeous (Danny McBride) adalah anak manja yang tak bisa apa-apa. Ia tak pernah ikut berperang seperti Fabious atau membela kaum yang lemah seperti saudaranya. Tapi kali ini berbeda. Thadeous akan mendampingi Fabious dalam sebuah perjalanan berbahaya.

Kalau biasanya Thadeous selalu dibiarkan tinggal di istana selama Fabious bertempur di medan perang, kali ini sang ayah memberi ultimatum agar Thadeous ikut turun dalam perjalanan untuk menyelamatkan Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel) dari cengkeraman Leezar (Justin Theroux). Mau tak mau Thadeous pun menuruti kehendak ayahnya dan ikut mencari Leezar untuk menyelamatkan calon istri kakaknya itu.

Tentu saja Thadeous tak mau terlihat sebagai pengecut meski sebenarnya ia sama sekali tak pernah ikut dalam perjalanan berbahaya seperti ini. Apalagi karena dalam perjalanan kali ini ada seorang wanita cantik bernama Isabel (Natalie Portman), jelas Thadeous tak ingin terlihat seperti orang yang lemah. Masalahnya, mampukah Thadeous bertahan menghadapi segala bahaya yang menghadang di tengah perjalanan mereka.
