Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Photos Ferrari World Wallpapers

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Overview, ferrari world abu dhabi theme, ferrari world park, abu dhabi logo, ferrari world wallpaper, Ferrari themed amusement park.

Ferrari World is a Ferrari themed amusement park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The park is situated under a 200,000 square meters (2,200,000 sq ft) roof making it the largest indoor amusement park in the world. Ferrari World is due to open on October 28 2010.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Overview:
The iconic roof of Ferrari World was designed by Benoy Architects. It is modelled after the side profile of a Ferrari GT. The roof has a total surface area of 200,000 square metres (2,200,000 sq ft) with a perimeter of 2,200 metres (7,200 ft). The theme park, measuring 86,000 square metres (930,000 sq ft), is located under this 50 metres (160 ft) high roof. These factors make Ferrari World the largest indoor theme park in the world.

A Ferrari logo adorns the roof of the building and measures 65 metres (213 ft) by 48.5 metres (159 ft) - the largest Ferrari logo ever created. 12,370 tonnes of steel has been used to support this roof. The centre of the roof is marked by a 100-metre (330 ft) glazed funnel. The structure was declared complete on the 29 October 2009 with the park due to open one year later.

Photos Scientists Discover Amazing Creatures Wallpapers

Scientists using cutting-edge technology to explore waters off Indonesia were wowed by colorful and diverse images of marine life on the ocean floor - including plate-sized sea spiders and flower-like sponges that appear to be carnivorous.

They predicted that as many as 50 new plant and animal species may have been discovered during the three-week expedition that ended Aug. 14. More than 100 hours of video and 100,000 photographs, captured using a robotic vehicle with high-definition cameras, were piped to shore in real-time by satellite and high-speed Internet.

Verena Tunnicliffe, a professor at the University of Victoria in Canada, said the images provided an extraordinary glimpse into one of the globe's most complex and little-known marine ecosystems. "Stalked sea lilies once covered the ocean, shallow and deep, but now are rare," she said in a written statement. "I've only seen a few in my career. But on this expedition, I was amazed to see them in great diversity."

Likewise, Tunnicliffe has also seen sea spiders before, but those were tiny in comparison, all around one-inch (2.5 centimeters) long: "The sea spiders ... on this mission were huge. Eight-inches (20-centimeters) or more across." One animal captured on video looks like a flower, covered with glasslike needles, but scientists think it is probably a carnivorous sponge. The pink spikes, covered with sticky tissue, appear to capture food as it passes by.

Timothy Shank of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts said his team has so far pored over more than 150,000 high-definition video framegrabs.

"I now feel that there may be at least 40 new species of deep-water coral and at least 50 new species that include benthic shrimp, crabs, sponges, clams, barnacles, anemones and sea cucumbers," he said. Confirmation that a species is new involves a scientific peer review and other steps and can take years.

Scientists used powerful sonar mapping system and the robotic vehicle to explore nearly 21,000 square miles (54,000 sq. kilometers) of sea floor off northern Indonesia, at depths ranging from 800 feet (240 meters) to over two miles (1.6 kilometers).

The mission was carried out by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's ship, the Okeanos Explorer. An Indonesian vessel, the Baruna Jaya IV, also took part, collecting specimens that, together with all rights for future use, will remain in the country.

Drinks Cans Wallpapers Transformed Into Can Cars Photos

Who knows, from recycling old drinks cans, transformed into variety of CanCars. This idea has been practiced by Sandy Sanderson, an artist from Hamilton, New Zealand.

The tool kit to make a CanCar can be very basic: single edged razor blades for cutting both the balsa and the cans, a pair of sharp scissors for cutting the cans, a sheet of 180 grit sandpaper for the wooden parts and sheet of 400 grit wet and dry for the metal, pair of compasses for circles and curves, a rule for measuring and straight lines, a pair of pliers for cutting and bending wire, a pair of tweezers for assembling fiddly bits, some metal polish and a can of clear lacquer to finish it off. On some of the cars the galvanised wire has needed joining to itself and the strongest way of doing that is with soft solder. So a small soldering iron will be needed for that.

Best Monkey Playing Basketball Photos

Do you ever watch a monkey playing basketball? Or more amazing, it can slam dunk or make a bank shot.

Nanning Zoo in Guangxi province, China said the monkey “Ji Ling” (cute one) is so smart that he learned to play basketball himself.

“Outside the monkey cage is a basketball court for our staff and over time Ji Ling learnt all the skills by simply watching people playing,” said the spokesman of the zoo. “We found his talent once a ball dropped into his fence and he started playing it like a human being.”

On February 16, the zoo hosted a show for Ji Ning to show off his skills. The show was a great success and there should be more of them in the future.

Pics Old Getting to know Golden Snub-nosed Monkey Photos

The Golden Snub-nosed Monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana) is an Old World monkey in the Colobinae subfamily. It is endemic to a small area in temperate, mountainous forests of central China, primarily around the Sichuan basin. The Chinese name is Sichuan Golden Hair Monkey. Snow occurs frequently within its range and it can withstand colder average temperatures than any other non-human primates. Its diet varies markedly with the seasons, but it is primarily an herbivore with lichens being its main food source. It is diurnal and largely arboreal, spending some 97% of their time in the canopy. There are three subspecies. Population estimates range from 8,000 to 15,000 and it is threatened by habitat loss.

Due to the gradual destruction of their habitat and recent wars in their limited habitat, the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List.
