MOVIE: The Warrior’s Way

Sinopsis:

Film the warrior's way ini dibintangi oleh aktor Dong-gun Jang (yang), artis cantik Kate Bosworth (Lynne), Danny Huston (colonel). Film ini produksi sad flutes. Yang adalah seorang pendekar dengan keahlian menggunakan pedang yang hidup pada abad ke-19. Yang diberi tugas oleh gurunya untuk membunuh musuh-musuhnya, namun ketika ia bertemu dengan musuh terakhirnya justru ia berubah pikiran. Pasalnya musuh terakhirnya adalah seorang bayi. Senyum bayi tersebut membuatnya luluh dan Yang memutuskan untuk menyelamatkan bayi tersebut lalu memisahkan diri dari guru dan kelompoknya.

Yang pergi ke wilayah barat Amerika dan bertemu dengan Lynne, seorang wanita yang mencoba untuk menjadi pelempar pisau handal. Mereka berdua memutuskan untuk menjadi pencuci pakaian dan merawat bayi yang diselamatkannya.

Ternyata kedamaian tidak memihak Yang, hidupnya terusik dengan hadirnya sekelompok orang yang dipimpin oleh The Colonel, seorang penguasa kota Gold Rush yang telah membunuh kedua orang tua Lynne. Bersamaan dengan The Colonel, hadir juga The Saddest Flute lawan bebuyutannya yang tidak lain adalah gurunya sendiri, mereka datang untuk membunuh bayi yang dibawa Yang.

Tanpa basa-basi The Warriors Way akan menyambut penontonnya dengan adegan penuh ketegangan sejak awal dimulai. Anda akan dibawa hanyut oleh tajamnya pedang yang digunakan dengan sangat piawai oleh Yang dalam membunuh musuh-musuhnya. Dong-Gun Jang yang berperan sebagai Yang, akan memaksa Anda untuk merasakan perjuangan untuk menyelamatkan bayi yang diselamatkannya tersebut.

Tidak salah jika lebih dari 17 tahun Dong-gun Jang berkecimpung di dunia film dan sinetron Korea dengan berbagai karakter yang pernah diperankan. Kini di film ini ia mampu menunjukkan bakat aktingnya di dunia perfilman internasional dengan berhasil mengkarakterkan dirinya sebagai pendekar yang misterius dan menjadi lawan main Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane – Superman Returns) dan Geoffrey Rush (Kapten Barbossa – Pirates of Carribean).

Yang perlu patut diacungi jempol lagi adalah hasil kerja dari Sngmoo Lee yang menjadikan film ini sebagai debut filmnya sebagai sutradara sekaligus penulis. Secara kualitas Sngmoo Lee tidak mengecewakan dengan mampu memberikan tontonan yang penuh ketegangan sekaligus romantisme. Ditambah lagi dengan sentuhan animasi grafis atmosfer dunia barat ala koboi.

“The Warrior’s Way” ia a visually-stunning modern martial arts western starring Korean actor Dong-gun Jang, who plays an Asian warrior assassin forced to hide in a small town in the American Badlands. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Kate Bosworth, Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush, Danny Houston, and Tony Cox.
